This Privacy Policy explains how the Duck Out mobile application (“the App”) handles information when you use it.
Short version
- The App itself does not ask for any personal information.
- Your game progress is stored locally on your device, not on our servers.
- Purchases are processed by Apple; we never see your payment details.
- We use Google Firebase (Analytics and Crashlytics) to count app launches, see which levels you reach, and receive crash reports. These services may use limited device identifiers in an aggregated, anonymized form. You can disable these via iOS Settings.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers.
1. Information we collect
1.1 Information stored locally on your device
The App saves the following on your device using iOS UserDefaults. This data never leaves your device and we cannot access it:
- Level progress (which levels you’ve completed, how many stars earned, best times, best move counts)
- Achievement unlock state
- Game settings (sound, music, haptic feedback preferences)
- Consecutive-3-star streak counter
- A flag indicating whether you’ve launched the App before
1.2 Purchase information
When you make an in-app purchase, Apple handles the transaction. We receive only an anonymous entitlement signal (whether you are a paying user). We do not receive your name, payment method, or Apple ID.
1.3 Analytics and crash data (Firebase)
With your consent (granted implicitly by continuing to use the App after reading this policy), the App uses Google Firebase Analytics and Google Firebase Crashlytics:
- What is collected: anonymous event logs (e.g. “level 5 completed”, “paywall viewed”), approximate country derived from IP, device model, iOS version, language setting, crash stack traces.
- What is not collected: your name, email, precise location, contacts, photos, messages, or any other personal data.
- Purpose: to understand how players move through the App, to detect crashes and fix bugs, and to make design decisions based on aggregate usage.
- Data processor: Google LLC. See Firebase’s Privacy and Security information.
- Retention: Firebase Analytics data is retained for 14 months by default; crash data for 90 days.
You may opt out of analytics data collection at any time via iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements (disable “Share with App Developers”).
2. Information we do not collect
We do not collect, process, or have access to:
- Your name, email address, phone number, or other contact information
- Your precise location
- Your contacts, calendar, photos, or microphone
- Any information about you outside the App
- The contents of any other apps on your device
3. Data sharing
We do not sell or rent any data. The only third party that receives any data from your use of the App is Google Firebase, as described above, and only for the stated purposes (analytics and crash reporting).
Apple receives your purchase information directly, as part of standard iOS in-app-purchase processing.
4. Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)
If you are a resident of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or California, you have the right to:
- Access the data we hold about you (answer: we hold none on our servers; Firebase data is aggregated and not tied to identifiers we control)
- Erase your data — for locally stored game progress, use Settings → Data → Reset All Progress inside the App. For Firebase-held analytics data, contact us at the email below.
- Object to processing — disable analytics in iOS Settings as described above.
- Complain to a supervisory authority in your jurisdiction.
5. Children’s privacy
The App does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. It is rated 4+ on the App Store but contains no sign-up, chat, user-generated content, or communication features. If you believe a child has used the App, no personal data will have been collected about them, because the App does not collect personal data.
6. Security
Locally-stored data is protected by the iOS sandbox. Data sent to Firebase is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). We use industry-standard practices but cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy over time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Material changes will also be noted in the App’s release notes.
